If you are a truck operator, you recognise the benefits and value of the bed of that truck. You can haul just about anything from your favourite recliner to a load of fire wood. We had the same predicament, a breathtaking passenger truck – until eventually you opened the tailgate. The cargo area was busted up pretty bad and it truly took away the wonderful looks of the pickup.

The creators of DualLiner sent one of their cargo area liner systems to us to mount on a 2004 Dodge Ram pick-up. The first thing we realized was how it was distributed and shipped to the front door. Every little thing you require is in one relatively easy to manage parcel, and it was mailed right to the doorstep. No setting up appointments or lingering in line needed.
The pack is made up of five sections… a front bed wall liner, two side wall liners, a tail gate liner, and a heavy duty, 3/8″ thick rubber bed mat.
Specific installation instructions are supplied with the system, and the step-by-step operation made it very uncomplicated. Total setup time is substantially less than 30 minutes, and can be finished by just one person. The only devices needed are a #40 and #27 Torx Driver; a ¼” drill bit, and drill.
The first phase is to take off the four cargo handles within the the Dodge Ram’s cargo area. We also swept out a couple of chunks of trash to be sure no deeper damage could occur to the pickup bed. The front bed liner went on first, and just tucked over the top front rail of the pickup bed. Next were the two side pieces… make sure the top edge of the liner is inserted beneath the bed rails. The front and side pieces are properly secured together with four friction-fit tabs (commonly referred to as push-in automotive fasteners). We then reinstalled the four cargo grips, which in turn totally anchored the side panels. The fact that the top of the side panels fit below the pickup bed rails gave the unit installation a very nice and clean look.
The next step is to install the tail gate liner to the tail gate. Take off the manufacturer Torx screws that hold down the access panel. Place the liner on the tail gate… the pre-drilled holes in the liner match up correctly with the factory holes. Re-install the Torx screws to the tailgate. There are four additional pre-drilled holes in the liner, which are situated towards the base of the tail gate. This is where you will want to drill four ¼” holes in the tail gate. The pack provides a tube of rust inhibitor… a little dab in every single recently drilled hole will circumvent rust. The four holes are then blocked with more push-in automotive fasteners.
The very last stage in the assembly is to put the 3/8″ thick rubber mat on the pickup bed. There are grooves in the bottom of the side panels to which the mat fits in for a ideal completed look.
